People have different reasons for buying a golf car.
Some want to have their own golf cart and use it when playing golf. Others are
looking for a more convenient mode of transportation when running errands
and going around the neighborhood (the vehicle is often referred to as a golf
car when used in this context.) Whatever your reason might be for purchasing a
golf cart, there are some factors you need to consider before making a
purchase.
Permission to use a golf cart
Are you permitted to use a personal
golf car on your golf course or in your neighborhood? Before you get too
excited about buying one, you may need to check whether or not you can use it
in your neighborhood. This is essentially the first thing you should do before
purchasing one.
Keep in mind that there are golf
courses that do not allow the use of golf carts on their courses and that
personal golf carts are not permitted for use in some neighborhoods. If it is
allowed in your neighborhood, you may want to ask about the rules, regulations
and limitations of using personal golf carts. This may include where and at
what speed are you allowed to drive it, as well as on which roads are golf
carts allowed. A good place to start inquiring is with your home owners
association.
Batteries and other parts
Unless you're buying a brand new
golf car, you want to be sure that all of the parts are functioning properly
(particularly batteries and connectors) prior to purchasing. You should be wary
about purchasing a used vehicle from a private seller unless you have some
knowledge about golf car mechanics. At Best Golf Cars all of our refurbished
cars are stripped down to their aluminum, rust-proof chassis, and all
parts are removed and carefully inspected prior to being rebuilt. We offer
warranties on all of our vehicles, as well as additional warranties on parts
like batteries, so you can feel confident that you're getting a quality golf
car regardless of its age.
Test drive the golf car
To ensure you are buying a fully
functional golf car, ask the dealer if you can take it
for a test drive. Some of the things that you need to check when taking the
golf for a test drive include switching the cart on, using the brakes, handling
the steering wheel, and the performance of the wheels. You want to be sure that
the car is in good working condition before deciding to buy.
If you're looking for a used or
refurbished car, we recommend purchasing from an authorized dealer only. At
Best Golf Cars we thoroughly inspect every pre-owned car and rebuild it
ourselves with new parts. We encourage you to come in and test drive any of our
show room cars!
